I feel privileged to collaborate with not just one but two directors of photography on Sonate des Saisons, the distinguished Carlos Ferrand, who is also the film director for this ambitious project, and Naomi Silver-Vézina, whose unyielding thirst for creation manifests itself in her passion for film, music and visual arts. Drawn to musical projects that inspire her to explore how images and sound complement one another across art forms, she remarked, “My goal is to let the piano performance guide the framing and movements, much like a dancer reacting to music. I hope this project will shine light on Rachel Laurin’s body of work through Minna Re Shin’s passionate and precise performance, as well as the beautiful imagery created by a talented team.”
